I. Research Projects

In 2025, the School of Information Engineering has organized the submission of 61 applications of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, with the approbation of 11 projects, including 2 General Program projects and 1 Joint Fund for Regional Innovation and Development project.

The school has also organized the submission of 37 applications of the Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation, with the approbation of 20 projects. These consist of 3 Provincial Key R&D Program projects, 1 Frontier Technology Project, 1 Key International Cooperative R&D Project, and 1 Major Special Project, with a total approved funding of 5.5 million RMB.

Furthermore, the School secured a Major Science and Technology Special Project under the Jiangxi "Pioneer Project," with approved funding of 11.5 million RMB.

II. Science and Technology Awards

Li Chunquan, Chen Limin, and Zhang Ye were awarded the 2024 Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class).

Liao Qinghong received the 2024 Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award (Second Class).

Professor Li An was awarded the 2024 Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award (Second Class).

Liu Qiegen received the 2nd Jiangxi Innovation and Excellence Award (Individual).

Yu Lisu was awarded the China Institute of Communications Science and Technology Award (First Class).

Yang Dingcheng and Xu Yu received the China Institute of Communications Science and Technology Award (Second Class).

Wu Fahui received the China Electronics Society Science and Technology Progress Award (Third Class).

Liu Qiegen was awarded the China Society of Image and Graphics Natural Science Award (Second Class).

III. Research Publications

A total of 197 academic papers were published, including 126 SCI-indexed papers, with 20 journal papers in Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) 1st Quartile, and 35 papers in CAS TOP-tier journals.

A significant milestone was achieved by Professor Zhu Li, who published the school’s first paper in Nature Communications.

In the highly influential "World's Top 2% Scientists" list for 2025, jointly released by Stanford University and Elsevier, six faculty members: Liu Qiegen, Yang Dingcheng, Yang Xiaohui, Liu Tingting, Song Xianlin, and Xu Yu, were included in the "Career-Long Impact" list.

IV. Social Services

The School has participate in developing the group standard T/CI 1152-2025 Security Governance Specification for Traffic Data Circulation Based on Blockchain”, which was approved and released via the National Standard Information Platform of the Standardization Administration of China and took effect on August 25, 2025.

The School has signed a cooperation agreement with the Xinyu Gaotie District to jointly establish the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and New Materials.

The School has made historic breakthrough in serving rural revitalization and securing major research funding in the province. The projectDevelopment and Application of an Intelligent Liquid Feeding System for Pigs” applicated by Dr. Hu Jiawen, for the Jiangxi Provincial Integrated Pilot Project on R&D, Manufacturing, Promotion, and Application of Agricultural Machinery, was successfully approved. Supported by special funds from the Central Government's Agricultural Industry Development Fund under the Ministry of Finance, the project has a total budget of 17.5 million RMB, including 12 million RMB from the central fund.

V. Academic Presentations

The School has hosted 18 academic lectures, both on-site and online, delivered by visiting experts and scholars.

The 3rd International Academic Conference on Optics and Photonics (IACOP 2025), co-hosted with the School of Physics, Hefei University of Technology.

The 20th Chinese Conference on Stereology and Image Analysis.

The 2025 China Forum on Biomedical Imaging and Intelligent Systems.

The 5th International Conference on Internet of Things and Smart City (IoTSC 2025).
